Starting the first day of work
after the holiday and joint leave for Eid al-Fitr, the enthusiasm of the
officers of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Jepara Regency remained
high. On this enthusiastic day, the Head of BPS Jepara Regency, Isnaini, accompanied
by the Food Crops Statistics Team, supervised the rice tiling activities in
Mulyoharjo Village, Jepara District.
This tiling activity is a real step
to ensure the accuracy and quality of food crop production data, especially
rice commodities, which are one of the mainstays of national food security.
With full dedication, the field officers carried out the measurement and direct
observation process in the rice fields, following strict statistical procedures
in order to produce data that can be scientifically accounted for.
The tiling survey itself is part of
the Food Crop Survey which is routinely carried out by BPS every subround (four
months). In this survey, officers took samples of 2.5 m × 2.5 m rice field
plots to calculate the productivity level of rice and secondary crops
objectively and accurately.
The tiled data plays an important
role as basic material in compiling various policies and planning for
agricultural sector development, both at the regional and national levels.
Therefore, the accuracy, precision, and sincerity of officers in implementing
this survey greatly determine the success in presenting quality and reliable
statistical data.
