Abstract

• May 2018 in Jawa Tengah there was deflation of 0.01 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 130.92. Deflation in Jawa Tengah occurred in two cities of SBH. while four other SBH cities experienced inflation
• The inflation rate for calendar year (May 2018 to December 2017) is 1.23 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2018 to May 2017) is 2.62 percent.
• The main cause of Jawa Tengah's deflation in May 2018 is the decline in the price of garlic, red pepper, rice, cayenne pepper and young jackfruit. While that restrains the rate of deflation is the rise in price of eggs, chicken, orange, rice with side dishes and onion.
