Development of the Consumer Price Index for Jawa Tengah Province January 2025

Abstract

In January 2025, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Jawa Tengah Province was 1.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.58. The highest inflation occurred in Tegal City at 1.76 percent with a CPI of 107.04 and the lowest occurred in Purwokerto City at 1.02 percent with a CPI of 105.59.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the index of most expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 4.38 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.04 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.97 percent; health group by 2.24 percent; transportation group by 0.97 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.05 percent; education group by 1.79 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.53 percent; and personal care and other services group by 5.76 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 8.68 percent and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.76 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate of Jawa Tengah Province in January 2025 were each 0.46 percent.
