The relationship between the
hotel sector and the tourism sector is closely related. If the tourism industry
is likened to a building, the hotel sector is the pillar. Hotels are one of the
main facilities in the tourism sector, so its sustainability is very dependent
on the number of tourists who come. In addition, the Hospitality Sector also
has an important role in the country's development, namely increasing the
people's industry, creating jobs for the community, helping education and
training efforts, increasing the country's foreign exchange, and increasing
regional income.
To obtain data on the
Hospitality Sector, the Central Bureau of Statistics conducts a
Company/Business Survey of Accommodation Service Providers every year. To get
an overall picture of the types of tourism businesses in Indonesia, it is
necessary to compile a database of these businesses as material for policy,
evaluation and planning. Therefore, it is necessary to collect data, especially
in the tourism business sector.
The purpose of the Tourism
Industry Company/Business Survey is to obtain data and information regarding
the profile of the company/business in general, such as Main Activities Types,
Operational Permits owned, ownership of business certifications, involvement in
association members and promotional tools used. In addition, company/business
specific information includes whether this business has sharia certification,
status of accommodation provision, number of guests staying during 2020, number
of Indonesian/WNA guests, number of rooms, number of beds, capacity of hotel
guests per room type, price per rooms per night, special information for the
availability of meeting rooms, package prices per person per pax (in 2021),
hotel facilities, labor benefits, income, expenses, additions and subtractions
of capital goods during 2020, use of basic materials during 2020, capital and
the use of information technology (ICT) and innovation. In 2021, the Tourism
Industry Company/Business Survey questionnaire has been refined with the
addition of questions about the Use of Information and Communication Technology
which includes the use of computers and the internet for business, innovation
in business, and the innovation process.
Given the importance of this data as material for
development planning and evaluation, the participation of respondents in the
2021 Accommodation Service Provider Company/Business Survey is very meaningful.
