On
Friday, April 19 2024, the Republic of Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency
(BPS) held an admin briefing for the 2024 Village Potential Survey (PODES)
fluent application. The briefing was important because the 2024 Podes data
collection this time used CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing) Mode,
which is a method data collection through direct interviews with respondents
using electronic devices such as cellphones, tablets or laptops. This activity
was carried out online via the Zoom and YouTube platforms and was effectively
participated in by all provincial and district/city BPS in Indonesia.
The
main tasks that will be carried out by the 2024 Podes admin include assigning
field officers who will collect data, evaluating data anomalies that may arise
during the data collection process, as well as overall management of the PODES
Survey using the FASIH-SM system. FASIH-SM itself is a survey management system
developed by BPS to facilitate survey management more efficiently and
effectively, starting from planning, data collection, to analysis of survey
results.
PODES
data is very useful for central and regional governments in planning and
implementing village, sub-district and district development. Therefore, the
success of the 2024 PODES Survey is very dependent on the ability and readiness
of Regency/City BPS admins to manage the survey process well. It is hoped that
this provision through online briefings can increase their understanding and
readiness to face challenges that may arise during the implementation of the
survey.
