Regional Statistics Agency (BPS) Reconciliation and Preparation for the 2026 Census in Pati Regency

October 2, 2025 | BPS Activities

Pati, October 2, 2025 - To follow up on the results of the reconciliation of Statistics Working Area (Wilkerstat) boundaries and prepare for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Pati Regency held a cross-regional coordination activity in 2025. This activity involved BPS representatives from six surrounding regencies: Jepara, Kudus, Demak, Rembang, Blora, and Grobogan. The main focus of the discussion was to harmonize spatial and statistical data between agencies, especially in bordering areas prone to overlap.

The briefing was delivered by Iman Teguh Raharjo from the Central Java Province BPS, who highlighted technical achievements in the field, the digitization of regional maps, and important notes from the Wilkerstat mapping system. Although field progress has reached 100%, data anomalies and overlapping maps remain unaddressed. The Pati Regency Bapperida (Education and Training Agency) stated that there are differences in reference points in calculating area size, which require adjustment and mutual understanding. All participants agreed that inter-regional synergy and the standardization of data sources are key to supporting the smooth implementation of SE2026 and maintaining the accuracy of statistical information at the regional level.

Through this activity, all parties emphasized the importance of understanding regional boundaries and the urgency of data synchronization as the foundation for implementing SE2026. Regional reconciliation involves not only mapping techniques but also aspects of spatial data validation and statistical accuracy. It is hoped that this coordination will be the first step in strengthening cross-regional cooperation to produce reliable and high-quality data.
