Abstract

• March 2018 in Central Java there was a deflation of 0.004 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 130.94. Deflation in Central Java occurred in three cities of SBH, while three other SBH cities experienced inflation.
• The inflation rate for calendar year  (March 2018 to December 2017) is 1.24 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2018 to March 2017) is 3.39 percent.
• The main cause of Central Java's deflation in March 2018 is the decline in rice prices, chicken meat, eggs, long beans and potatoes. While holding back the rate of deflation is the increase of garlic, onion, gasoline, young jackfruit and red peppers.
